So, to add to the broken spring and self destructing grab handles now one of our ignition keys has given up!
I unlocked the car as usual (i.e. remotely) but when I turned the key I got an "electronic anti theft faulty" message, and whilst the engine was cranking it wouldn't start. Initially I thought the worst but was relieved when the spare key started it.
So what's the damage - a new key, programmed by my local, friendly, ever willing to relieve me of my hard earned cash, dealer or is the a known simple fix?
On the plus side, I suppose it proves the immobiliser works so no-ones gonna nick it...

Re: 207 HDi - now the key is dead
New transponder chip coded in should do although I'm starting to wonder if the aerial is dying, even though the spare key works.
Andy.

Re: 207 HDi - now the key is dead
I have had a few of these keys fail, as the chip is soldered to the board for some reason rather than just stuck in the key.
A new key would be my best guess, they are about £98 +vat + programming
