Hi folks,
This is my first post on the forum so go easy on me. The rev counter on my 806 works fine on start up and for anything up to 10 mins then drops to 0 and doesn't work again until restart. Any ideas.

Re: 1996 806 srtd rev counter
Welcome.
Most likely cause is the TDC sensor itself failing or loose, its fitted in the top of the transmission via a plastic clip and a bolt. I had this problem too, and a new clip fixed it due to the old one being worn (the bolt is sort of self tapping into the plastic clip) a sensor or clip is not expensive, I'd start with the clip as it appears to work in a fashion, the sensor tends to die totally in most cases if its faulty but not always.
