I will soon be the proud owner of a 2008 MY C5.

2.2 Litre HDi(173bhp) 6 speed manual C5 Exclusive.
White.
It has been a day since I took it for a test drive, and I am already forgetting what the spec included.
As far as I can remember it has :-

Full leather trim.
Electric, heated front seats, drivers side with memory.
Auti dim mirror.
Auto headlights.
Auto wipers.
Electric, heated fold flat memory mirrors.
Full colour Sat. Nav.
Bluetooth phone with sim card slot for any model phone. (except a house phone).
Rear park assist.
Interior mood lighting (whatever that is)
Electric park brake with hill start assist.
The fancy hydro something suspension with sport mode and snow assist thingy> (technical term.
Parking camera to show if a space is big enough for the car (wife needs half a mile so she won't be parking it)
Usual MP3 /radio/CD stuff.
19" alloys/ TP sensors ( re-mortgage the house for new tyres I think)
Thats all I can remember at present. My regd. number is being transferred from my Saab next week and the Citroen will be ready to collect next Saturday(July 28th)
25,000 miles on the clock.
Full main dealer service history (second one last week)
1 year MOT
3 Years warranty from supplier ( Yes!! 3 years)

I'm sure I can rely on some of you Citroen experts to help me work all the toys when I get the car, and to advise me of anything to look out for. (Please don't tell me if the whole electrical system is likely to crash , my heart wouldn't take it)

Honestly though, any advice would be most welcome.
Rick.

Sounds very nice!

You don't often see them in white, there was one in my local Citroen dealer for ages (new), they then seemed to get it back as a used car but it went back in the showroom. Full to the brim with goodies it was, yours sounds similar.

It's a great engine. The only weak point on the earlier C5's was the clutch, but the 2008 model got a revised version so you should be ok.

I get an average of 46mpg in my French style C5, so a German style one will be a little less as it weighs more.

Let us know how you like it.

OK, it hasn't got the camera parking thingy, or the snow setting which is for auto boxes I think. It has got massage drivers seat though. Quite pleased so far, but the aircon dosen't seem to be as cold as the Saab.

Some basic pics.

Very nice, two things that look out on the dash is the screen is more passenger side than drivers and the hazard switch location.

Like all the buttons on the wheel and i like white cars.

Yes, the screen does look offset but all the controls are on the fixed centre of the steering wheel as well ,and the display is crystal clear with no shading .

very nice! I like the alloys, are these 19" ?

the buttons are all very easy to use and I LOVE the fixed steering wheel hub, can change audio etc while going round a corner!

you may need the aircon re-gassed if its not cold enough, I know I needed to get mine done after 2 years

Yep, 19 inch alloys. It looks a mean bugger when the suspension is dropped. The big wheels kinda dissappear under the arches.
I Emailed the garage and told them I thought the aircon was poor. The service manager phoned me back to say he was arranging a driver to pick up the car and leave me a loan car til the Citroen was fixed. I thought that was pretty good as they are about 100 miles away. It will be done under warranty . I'm busy this next week so he said to give him a call when I have time and he will arrange it all.

Nice machine..... =D>
Check battery voltage and charging circuit, as these machines are VERY voltage sensitive, and totally dependant on circuitry etc.. I had a host of alarms on mine which the dealer failed to resolve, even under warranty. The battery died in the 2nd winter (they are vicious here down to -25), and after I replaced it with a bigger capacity Bosch, the faults vanished.
Check the front wiper blades they are expensive unobtanium here. :x
Tyre pressure sensors are a great safety feature but each wheel is paired to a sensor. What was an easy swap around to even out tyre wear or fitting the spare in a puncture is not so simple. Mine would false alarm in sub -5 to -25 so had them dialled out by the dealer. They may be easy to re-program at the dealers, you would have to ask.

Unless you are over the Lecht or Braemar way regularly, the 19" should be ok through the winter, but you will feel almost every ripple on the road. On perfect surfaces these big tyres are fine, but are fitted more for looks than comfort. Replacement tyres will hammer your wallet also in the bigger sizes.
Over here, winter tyres must be fitted for the winter by law.
So, I fitted 17 Nokian 225 in place of the stock 18 Michelin 245, and was amazed at the better comfort (another advantage of having the tyre sensors dialled out). The 18s are still in store for the last 2 winters, and as summer road noise is the only downside, but comfort is superb, they stay. Having said that, there are typically some fairly rough mud roads here, so the Nokians bite where the Michelins would fail, Have even climbed over mountain passes where only 4x4s should go... Thank you Citroen hydraulics... =D>
PS - Another advantage now is that the spare is the same Nokian on a steel rim, so no longer speed restricted...... and the punctured wheel goes back in the hole :-D

Enjoy.....
