The 306 car leaking still......

Post by Welshy_Pete »

The car leaking still...... well when I got it the aerial was leaking so I fixed that cause there was water on all the floor I could have fish in there!

The next problem the back doors but Ive ajusted those so now those dont leak!

Now the passanger front door leaks somebody cut the metal lip from underneath were the rubber goes near the dash in one small part. Why the hell would you do that unless boding speaker wires or something perfectic. They put silicon were the cout was made in the rubber it never worked sad or wat!

So Ive had to get rid of that rubber it would leak Ive got anther from the scrap yard but it leaks. Ive ajusted it tried everything Im just not sure what the hell the problem its got to be the scrap yard rubber no good?

The driver door if the water the same it trys to leak in the same place there but its harder to leak there. Is there a common thing with this leaking or wat!

Old rubber cut then silicon sad! but were the cut is piece metal gone on that bit nuts!

Fitted anther rubber but this problem now!

Ive tried passanger front side moving the rubber around the frame in diffrent ways but still leaks in the same place!

The driver side just about holds but does leak abit in the same place!

Both doors are ajusted right in the most they can as well.

i would say that is coming in from behind the door trim/card, or water that enters the door is being directed of the speaker,

firstly check the door membrane is intact if not make a new one from a sheet of polythene, also check the water deflector over the speaker is doing its job

Where the water deflector?

This could be the problem

It could come in through the door seal / speaker area as mentioned, and it will spread over the seal when you open the door, giving the impression its doing that.

Best way is to get an assistant with a hose pipe and water the door, while you have your head in the footwell with a bright torch (even in good daylight) and watch closely to see what's going on. If necessary remove the door trim first (but not the sheet, just the outer trim)

I have seen this problem before.

The door is skewed, resulting in the upper raked portion of the seal (around the window opening/frame, forward edge), making poor contact.

Sometimes it's a result of attempted theft or forced entrée, the door frame having been bent outwards. Other times it's the result of a poorly fitted replacement door or shoddy panel repair.

If the door is alright, the solution is to bring the upper hinge in as tight as possible, and pack the lower one out slightly with spacers. If the door frame is bent it either needs a proper repairer (not a parts fitter) or replacement.

i would also make sure the joint in the seal in your first picy is at the bottom of the door shut,
it will cause a leak were it is in that picy

Ive Ive taken the door card of and looked at the inside door card cover it looks fine. But once I poured water along the door it was coming in through the door card cover.

I dont want to fit a new one cause its in tidy condition what shall I do use silicon to seal it up?

so at what point did the water breach the membrane/speaker port,
its usually were the speaker pod is as the water hits inside the top then gets diverted the wrong route, so ends up comming into the car

Its not hard were the water showing just above that the sound insulation has abit that sticks out. Its coming out of that.

But now Ive found out some idout has used the wrong screws on the mirror perfectic. So I think that might be causing it to go in the door!
