It won't start HELP PLEASE

Hi my 1.9 M reg xantia wont start i'v tried a new battery but no luck however it did bump start when turning the key all i get is a click and thats it any ideas.

Sounds like the solenoid contacts or brushes on your starter motor - I'd be tempted to pay a trip to the scrapyard for a replacement or get yours reconditioned.

Buy some new brushes and while you have the starter apart give it a good clean. Be careful not to short it when trying it out though [:D][}:)]

Had exactly the same problem the other day, onr of the wires was put on insecurely following a recent clutch change. Ended up putting a new starter motor in.
Only a 25 mins out + 25 mins in job.
