c3 automatic diesel gear change help

Hi parents have just got the above and when changing gear you get a long pause so the car slows down for a couple of seconds then catches up, you can also feel this.

So just wondering if this is normal for this type of box

If its a sensodrive gearbox with the paddle shifters at the steering wheel then this is fairly normal, its not a proper autobox, its just a normal manual gearbox where the gearchange & clutch operaton are done by motors.
If its a regular auto then it's not normal for there to be a delay when changing.

Thanks for your help, yes it is the one with the paddles, they just got it on mobility and just wondered if it was correct, they have learned to get used to it now
