C5 tailgate and water

Hi,

As a newbie C5 owner (1 day - 2004 2.0 HDI Exclusive) I assume the water that pours into the boot when opening the tailgate is a design fault.

It has been hammering down here today and no matter how carefully I open the tailgate the rain pours off the tailgate into the boot

Is there a fix ?

Hi Graham, and welcome to the C5’s tailgate !

They are like that, the Xantia is worse.
They’re only good to open slowly on level ground when there’s no windswept rain.
We’ve seen the deluge from this distance.

Thanks for that, deluge isn't the word.

Apparantly the jetstream coming from America is too far south hence our delightful wet summer.

Stayed dry enough for Mark Webber to win the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, so well done to him.
