C5 54 reg suspention fluid help

hi all are the suspention and the power steering fluid all in one on a C5. and what type of fluid do you use to fill it up... as i think mine is a litte low.. is it located under the black cover on the left hand side of the engine with a power steering fluid cap on.. is this for both if so how far do you fill it is it half way or is it to the top like the clutch and brake fluid... the reason for this is i noticed a little rattle noise when going over bumps or rough roads.. and when i pressed down on the front of the car.. so i took of the black cover and found the power steering cap so undone it which was under pressure started the car up turned the steering left then right and so on.. put the suspention up and then down and so on and the noise seemed to have faded.. so it might be low fluid.. hense the questions are thay duel fluid... what fluid do you use ... and how full do you fill them

It is a shared reservoir and the fluid is LDS.
The level is just over the lower set of 'fingers' in the conical filler tube.

hi mate.. is the conical filler tube that pease of plastic that you see when you take the of the cap.. it looks like a tea strainer if so it should be nearly full then... as for the oil can you get it from any motor factors

I did consult a technical manual for the level then pretty much ignored it when I topped mine up.

LDS quite rare in normal motor factors, and forget Halfords as well. You'll need to go either to a Citroen main dealer (£25 a litre) or you can go to a GSF if you have one nearby (a lot cheaper), failing that try eBay.

thanks guys..... i have got my head around it now. as long as the level is near the seam on normal hight it will be ok.. i will check it again when it stops raining thats a big when it stops raining.....

It should be at the level described with suspension set to LOW. In fact it should be set to that level with the suspension de-pressurised but that can't be achieved without a Lexia LOW height will be good enough.
