I've got an airbag light on and it's starting to get annoying at night.
It's not the main one but the side airbag one. (Looks like a passenger wearing a seatbelt sitting next to a long balloon).
Any ideas?

Re: Side airbag light Xantia HDI
The side airbags have their own ECUs in the B Pillars Steve...
As per the usual with any airbag fault, the very first thing is to check the two pin connectors under the seats. You'll find two sets under each seat - one set for the pre-tensioners and another for the side bags.
If this all seems good, a Lexia session is needed to check which is unhappy and if the ECU is OK. I understand that if the ECU 'trips' it cannot be reset...
Don't forget the airbag plugs have special clips on them to cause a short-circuit if they come apart. This is to ensure a positive fault is raised. Just because they look OK don't assume they are. Pull them apart and reconnect them, ensuring they go right home...

Nice one! I've had a quick look but haven't pulled any of the connectors appart.
I'll have a bash at them tomorrow.
Ta very much.
