exterior temp. gauge misreading soloution?

Unread post by isisalar »

I thought I'd post this up in case it might help anyone with this problem.
After working perfectly for some time the gauge on my VSX started intermittently misbehaving, and then settled down to permanantly over reading, sometimes reading as much as 47degrees.
Whilst having my clutch clip replaced last week the guy working at the gearbox end commented that whoever had done the job last had left some cables in an incorrect position, and he put them back where they should have been.
Lo and behold the gauge is now working perfectly again.
Kind regards
Paul

I got the impression that they had somehow got involved with the clutch cable where it's attached to the clutch. It was certainly in that area. Thinking back the misreading did start about the time I had the clutch fitted.
