dtr starting issues

few weeks ago Ella fired up as normal,the died as if out of fuel,had changed the fuel filter recently so assumed this was the problem,after bleeding the system she would eventually fire up then run as normal,but next day it would be the same proceedure all over again,as the fuel primer pump seemed a tad iffy(not always pumping) i changed this yesterday,bled the fuel through and took her for a short run,this morning tried her again,back to the same symptoms(almost firing) bought some easy start and hey voila she fired up. before i pull the glo plugs to check them,wondered if you guys could shed some light on this problem???

if this srill has the fuel heater on the side of the cylinder head... loop it out of the system, these go porous!
