Xantia Lower engine mount

Post by ydidibyadamcitroen »

My lower engine mount has gione Rotten... It is the one that looks like a donut.
Haynes manual very confusing as they say drive shaft needs to be removed????
I only need to change the round rubber mounting, is it easyto do.
Any advice

Jim -
This is because the book of lies assumes you replace the whole lower engine mount assembly - which has the RHS (long) drive axle through.
The rubber insert bushing is available separately - so you just have to remove the steel bracket (& bolts/nuts).
The old bushing is hacksawed to remove the rubber - then the remaining steel ring is likewise hacksawed to get it out.
The bushing housing is cleaned - the new bushing greased on steel surface - and pressed in.
Try save remnants of the old bushing - to instantly check the new one will fit.
Try this GSF part : N10126
This is the lower engine mount rubber disc bushing for the BX XU-engines. It's the same lower engine mount for most XU-engine types - which is also used on the Xantia's.
