Xantia V6 Green Blood leak

Post by f00lzz »

Hi All.

I have a really major leak somewhere under the Hydraulic Fluid Tank... after taking the tank away the source of the leak is not plainly obvious especially after I managed to slop some of the fluid around while removing the tank and pipes. However 'this' (see pic) seems to be a likely candidate whatever it is. Is it likely that this can be the culprit? And what is it?

It's the stupid 'swear' filter changing Cit roen to Citroen with dots above the e. I'll have a go..

Nope can't get it to work! Just copy and paste this into your address bar and delete the space in the word Citro en. Mods - can we remove this stupid swear filter entry, just confuses searches and links such as this!

As far as I can tell by the way, that's your anti sink valve, and I think it's a common ish issue for them to leak from an end seal, as you're experiencing!

No good... not come across this problem before. However thanks for the info. Can I get replacement seals or will I have to change complete?

Common O-ring; it's the green one from the LHM pump overhaul set. I haven't checked but it may be an AC o-ring; hence the colour...

As an FYI, my car has a perfectly dry antisink (odd!) but the O-ring under the pressure warning switch has died. This is easily bought as a 14×2 at a bearing house, although PSA reckon it's 14×1,9. Be sure to specify oil resistant material if you buy this one to replace "while you're at it".

Thread with pics and part number reference here: Anti sink leak

I've added a thread to the handy hints and tips. Might be worth chaning this as routine now when LHM is changed to prevent problems later!

Thanks for the help guys... I can see a sliver of green seal on mine so perhaps it as protruded slightly, hence the leak. Do these end caps just unscrew?

Just unscrew the cap. Some of them are very tight which needs a tool with a good grip.
No spring or popping up parts behind :)

... and a pic of it:
