Hi, a friend of mine who owns C5. However, it has been at least 6 months his car is not on the road.
His C5 is actually in the process of 'transforming' the hyraulic suspension to normal suspension (coil spring & absorber).
Things has been almost sorted out but when wanted to get the car alive again, the remote key fail him.
He had the transponder key code on hand, however, not sure what would be the next step that he suppose to do.
Is the remote key need re-programming?
Appreciate if any of the forumers / owners can enlighten this.
Thank you.

Are you sure the battery is ok?
To re-synch the remote you turn the ignition on and press each of the remote buttons in turn.

Re: C5 Remote not operate?
Yes. He had changed new battery on the remote. Initially he thought this is the culprit, however, upon changing it, seems no improvement shown.
The buttons pressed weren't showing any sign nor indicate any signal at all.
To me, it seems the remote is not talking to the car.
I have little knowledge on C5, thus any leads would be high appreciated.
At least for now, it is a good start for me to learn C5 prior owning one.

Re: C5 Remote not operate?
Had a similar problem with my C5 last year - the remote just stopped working.
Changing remote batteries didn't help at all, disconnecting the car battery for 5 minutes did.

Re: C5 Remote not operate?
I will ask my friend to switch the ignition & sync each button as mentioned.
Also, will try the method by disconnecting the battery approx. 5mins then connect back...
Hopefully it helps!
Thanks. I shall revert on the result once done.

Re: C5 Remote not operate?
Correct way to reprogram the C5 key is to insert in ignition and turn on, press and hold lock key for 10 seconds, switch ignition off and wait another 10 seconds.....key is now programmed.

Re: C5 Remote not operate?
We suspect the C5 immobiliser has been locked?
If that is really the case, there must be some kind of security code in order to unlock it. I have the Transponder Code.
Can anyone enlighten me if Transponder Code = Immobiliser Code?
If no, how am I suppose to obtain the code? Please help!

Re: C5 Remote not operate?
We've checked and it is no successful on trying to reprogrammed the remote.
One thing that i notice is when we switch the ignition key, the 'Check Engine Light' is not flashing. It doesn't lit up either
I assume this is something related to BSI fault?
Lexia3 weren't able to establish the dialogue either.
Can anyone please help?
