Rear wiper odities on S2 Xant estate

Morning peeps,
the rear wiper on the xant is being what can only be described as Typically french and working when it feels like it, occasionally if it doesnt work and you leave the switch on, turn ignition off and then back on it will work, sometimes it works fine, other times it takes an opening and closing of the boot! - wiggling the wires doesnt seem toi do anything, but an opena dn close of the boot does,
kinda leads me to think earthing maybe??
any fixes for this or is it just part of the joys of french ownership????

The first place I'd check is where the cables enter enter the boot lid, pull back the rubber boots (one each side) and you'll more than likely find broken cables.

i did this for the mot and re soldered 3 or 4 of them, will have another look when dry just in case of more,

Mine went scatty when the boot membrane leaked and the carpet was wet underneath. Never figured out why, but it would come on when you braked or indicated, and sometimes just when you turned the ingition on. French electrics, got to love them....
