Classic Car Weekly - CX Buyers Guide.

Unread post by Citroening »

Saw in Classic Car Weekly this week that they've done a Buyers Guide for a CX. Reason for mentioning is that the write-up is quite ludicrous with the journalist obviously not knowing anything at all. One such comment was that the CX might need it's shock absorber replacing if the suspension was too bouncy or something along those lines...

Also for the technical details (the photos were of a Series 1 2400 Prestige) it was also based on the Prestige with reference to the 2400 engine, however they seem to think they've got a five speed manual 'box...

Will take a scan of the page and post it up...

Not unusual, journalists often work on subjects they have absolutely no knowledge on whatsoever which is evident on a daily basis from what I've observed the last time I picked up a newspaper. "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story".

Sounds like a good laugh, perhaps we should write in and ask them about this shock aborber?

Kwik Fit once told my brother that the dampers on his car needed changing because they were dangerously worn.

It was a BX.

He told them to go ahead.

Some head-scratching later, they came back and apologised that they did not have any in stock for his car..

He did not go back.

As ever was...

And will ever be...

Perhaps the shock absorber they refer to is the one you might need when you see how much a CX might cost to run and repair if you can't do it yourself...
