Citroen C3 Pluriel Convertable Remote/Immobiliser Issue

Post by Gemsbilt »

Hello I have an issue with my car that is basically rendering it unusable and I hope someone may have an answer. Randomly when I go to open the car with the remote it won't work,I have to open it with the key meaning the alarm goes off and the immobiliser kicks in so I can't start the car. I have to call the AA and I think they disconnect the battery so it resets the immobiliser to get in and start again. Obviously this isn't a permanent solution! I've taken it to citroen (even towed it there with the immobiliser and alarm on!) to try to ascertain what's wrong and they can't find anything :-( the only answer they have is to replace the lot at a cost of £650,which isn't an option due to the value of the car and now I can't sell it either. Has anyone got any ideas or had a similar problem? Could i have the immobilser removed permanently to prevent it? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

It Weill almost certainly be the BSI unit, but I would be absolutely sure of the car battery first.
It doesn't cost £650 to change the BSI

Thank you for your reply. That what the garage have said it is but have told me the cost to replace the BSI is £650 does that sound too much?

You could get a BSI , Engine ECU and Transponder keys from the same car at a scrap yard for £250, then just swap them.
For what we are about to receive may we be truly thank full.
