C5 2.0 HDi 2003 - leaking hatchback

I've owned this car for 5 years. It has been very reliable and trouble-free. It is still a pleasure to drive but it is now letting in rainwater which forms a deep puddle in the space where the spare wheel is stored. Is this a known problem? Does anyone know where the water is likely to be entering?

No sunroof. Just the standard 5 door hatchback.

Check the rubber seals on the tailgate and also the fitment of the rear light units, they can allow water to seep in in wet conditions.
09 C5 X7 2.0Hdi Exclusive in Perla Nera black (the best colour) :wink:
