smell of burning wiring in the saloon

I have a 2002 Citroen Berlingo 2ltr HDi. For the last couple of months there has been a smell of burning wiring whilst running,
I can only think it has something to do with the heater,can anyone help please.

Sure it isn't a brake binding - similar sort of pong.

Does it have A/C? If so is the pollen filter mucky?
