Scenic II air con won't operate,the switch doesn't light up

My lass 53 reg Scenic 1.9 dci dynamique air con switch won't light up,I have changed the control panel unit,still won't light up,what would the problem be?
CITROEN C5 2.0 HDI VTR 04 REG
CITROEN C5 2.0 16V EXCLUSIVE 53 REG
CITROEN C5 2.0 HDI EXCLUSIVE 52 REG
CITROEN C5 2.2 HDI EXCLUSIVE AUTOMATIC 54 REG FACELIFT MODEL
CITROEN C5 1.6 HDI VTR 05 REG FACELIFT MODEL

Have you checked for blown fuses? Aside from that I can't help, I've never owned a Renault. Sorry.

Hi gazzas c5, i guess it was working then stopped? could it be that it needs re charge. and the switch will only illuminate when it's got enough refrigerant.
