C5 2.0 HDi VTR 2003 Fuses

Post by wornelly »

A few questions as I have just bought this vehicle,

1. Does anybody have a list for the fuses for this vehicle,
2. Why does my display say that I am getting 217mpg
3. Is the rear wiper a common fault on this vehicle
4. Is there a separate fuse for the windscreen washer

Many Thanks in advance

Nelly

1 - I have the handbook scanned. If you want to see the relevant pages I can email them to you, or post a disc to you.

2 - Pass, although they are very influenced by mementary driving conditions. Mine doesn't work but daughter's SAABs and Rover 75 will both flag up a range of 9999 miles on the overrun.

3 - What is the wiper fault?

4 - engine compartment F14, 10A.

F.O.C.
If I can find the disk I'll copy it and bring to the X-rally tomorrow, otherwise PM your address & I will post it on Monday.

Best guess is the wiring that runs adjacent to the tailgate hinges is severed.
Check for a voltage on the motor terminals.
Note that the car puts a lot of circuits to sleep after a few minutes, after accessing the motor you may need to start the engine.
Discovered this while repairing my tailgate glass, two days before it got smashed :

Not offhand other than the motor may be cabbaged if you can't hear it run.
Try a replacement fuse. Some look OK but have a hairline gap in them.
If it runs then blocked pipes.

The rear wiper is now fixed, as they say loose nuts cause problems, haha,
as for the windscreen washer there is no noise from the pump, so I will look
at this as soon as possible, 8-[
