Adding factory cd changer to 206

Post by waynedance »

Want to add a factory cd changer to a 206 lx 2001 model, I have taken mine from my Citroen C5 and plugged it in the 206 as the plug is the same and there is power there. Nothing happens when pressing the button on the factory radio for muti changer.

Any ideas.

I *think* you need a Planet / Lexia to "tell" it its actually present. I know with some 406's you have to use that to initially inform it its got a changer or satnav* stuff etc.

*I know its not satnav, just an example.

If its a multiplexed 206 you will need to inform it through Peugeot Planet that it has now got a CD changer. I think 2001 was the changeover point for 'plexing those.

If your not sure how to tell if its a multiplexed version or not, if the indicator and wiper stalks are round and look exactly like the ones on your C5 then it is. The they look older and more early 406 style then it wont. I think they also got the slightly more 'filled' looking steering wheel too.

In that case it is a multiplexed 206 and so will need Peugeot Planet to install the CD changer :)
