Hello,anyone in?

A forum for new members to introduce themselves to the rabble already onboard. Not compulsory!
Tell us a little about yourself, lie if you have to but keep it to just an introduction, not a car discussion.

Hello,anyone in?

Unread post by qprdude »

Hi . My name's Rick and I'm grumpy old git. I'm closing in on retirement, working for a big oil company part time as a Lubricant management engineer (don't ask). I live, for the time being , in the North East of Scotland, but my boss indoors has a notion that we are to relocate to Surrey in the not too distant future.
Thought I'd get that out of the way first.
At present, I'm not a French car owner, although She Who Must Be Obeyed has a Renault Clio Campus sport. I have had the good fortune to own a Laguna Priviledge in the past, as well as a Citroen C5. We have had 5 French cars in the family , and it might be nearing the time when the 6th one makes an appearance.
Thats why I'm here. To pick the brains of real owners, rather than read magazine hype or listen to Mr Clarkson berate anything that costs less than a small cottage in Derbyshire, and takes more than the blink of an eye to reach the nearest bus stop.
Hope you guys and girls might be able to guide me in the right direction over the next few months, when finances could be available to once again enter the battle with the showroom sharks.
Rick.

hi Rick and welcome

i lived in Aberdeen just over 30 years ago and worked for Grants coach works, if memory serves it was just up the road nearly opposite the fire station,
whilst there i re/sprayed the largest vehicle i had every painted, which was a 40 foot arctic panel trailer for a company call Shore Porters,

i did enjoy Aberdeen and the surrounding county side i wished i stayed there,

regards malcolm
