series 2 cx dtr Temp guage

help! am totally confused by temp gauge antics,with ignition switched on the tempgauge backlight lihgts up and the needle swings all the way to the right,holds for a few seconds then returns to cold.during use the guage never(yet anyway) moves.?? [-o<

Judging by the sounds of it, that sounds distinctively like the gauge for the oil. When ignition switched on the needle will go to the right as this is the oil level, and then when running it should be oil temperature. Being a Series 2 it should have MIN and MAX markers on it? :?:

Looking at a picture of one of dad's DTR Turbo 2's dashes, they don't appear to have a temperature gauge - just a warning light if it gets too high - third in from the left in the little bar of warning lights:

I believe the temperature guage is digital, although mine is currently removed!
It is the one that reads a temperature in the centre of the dash alongside the clock!

Dave's right - you can see it in the top left hand side of the picture above. The only trouble with these are that the pixels go over time and thus become very hard to read...

lol thats the one on the left of the clock??that always reads 184 degrees!! on that note the clock did tell me it was 11:74!!!!!!or is the temp display on the left of the clock,which on Ella has only two random pixels working,,,,,sometimes,lol.am thinking maybe ive been driving mercs too long,,,should maybe be a bit more french about it PAH!
