Hi All,
Just wondering what the internal diameter of the ZX leak-off pipes is/should be.
I can get some 3.2mm inside dia sent out here fairly cheaply from a well-known auction site.

Hi Phil -
ZX does not have leak-off pipes ?
If you mean the BX standard LHM hydraulic leak off pipes, yes they are 3.2mm internally, to give a snug fit on the widely used 3.5mm piping & studs on components.
EDIT : Ahaa -
Just had a peep on the other thread of yours on a blown headgasket.
The piping should be the same, except you must be sure it will withstand the DERV fuel.

Thanks for that Citronut - but the cost of the postage of that one over here was a bit eye-watering, so I went for a somewhat cheaper option which is 370594711859: all-in it was cheaper than just the postage of t'other one!
I know, I'm such a cheapskate...

Hi Citronut;
Oh how I wish there was the density of Halfords or Unipart stores over here as there seems to be in the UK! The nearest spares place I know of is over 30 miles away. Factor in the cost of fuel and getting bits from ebay is a no-brainer.
The price of parts over here is enough to make you gasp as well.
An example is the set of discs and pads sourced from ebay for a friends Clio; under £50 inc shipping from the ’bay, 120€ just for the discs over here.
Luckily, supermarkets, and the French equivalent of B&Q and Homebase, usually stock a good range of oils, filters, fanbelts, and all the odds and sods you find you need at 5 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon which is mind-bogglingly useful. (They don't do leak off piping though...).
For driving over here the best advice I can offer is; if you are going to break down, try and plan ahead. Carry a mobile phone, know your friends phone numbers, and always have a tow rope in the boot!

Just for info:
I've found that windscreen washer tubing is a good (temporary) leak-off pipe substitute. And being almost an M&M green, it adds a nice splash of colour to the basic underbonnet aluminium and black.
