Hi,
Just replaced my Xantia hazard switch for a new citroen one afor its MOT. Alas the switch worked perfectly but the indicators stopped working? It was the correct switch for the 98 model and reg so the Citroen dealer said.
I had to put the old one back, which was an MOT fail because when pressed sometimes it only activates the right hand lights. However the indicators do work so my question is..
How do I figure out why the hazard is disabling the indicators when a new hazard switch is used? Or as a secondary question, what is the fault in my existing switch and can it be rectified?
I'm a bit stumped, any help to sort will get it through its MOT.
Thanks

I think the short answer is that either its not the right one or its faulty. Try squirting some WD40 into your old switch and giving it a good work out.

Re: Xantia hazard switch and indicators issue?
I've tried three switches, two ebay and one from the citroen dealer today, they all do the same thing, namely hazards work fine, indicators stop working. I dont think the new switch is the problem. The relay was changed last year and connections sprayed with WD40.
Was I by any chance supposed to do somethink like an alarm reset or something as part of the changeover of switches. Certainly this morning I quckly changed the hazard switch without removing a battery terminal?

Re: Xantia hazard switch and indicators issue?
Sounds very strange, I don't think a 98 Xantia would be multiplexed so I can't see a problem with programming. Are the replacement switches identical to the old one, same part number? The only other thing I can suggest is that the connector is faulty although if the old one still works that seems unlikely.

Apparently a fuse had gone because the one in had the wrong rating. The Saxo hazard switch I fitted was fine.
