HDI 1400 Boffs....

Post by citroenxm »

Ive a problem with a 1400 8v HDi.... (Its actually a Vid below, NOT a Pic, please click to watch!!)

Image

Rev her up to just above 1200rpm and she smooths out.... and also, apparently when warm it settles down!

Any one any idea what Im looking at here (problem wise, NOT the car make :-D )

Compared to my brothers C3, with identical engine, the C3 feels livler and quicker then this lump above

I'm reasonably sure it is the other end - PSA seem to revers the sequence compared with other manufacturers.

Check the needle lift sensor on #3.

Paul, it might be an idea to do a leak-off test on the injectors using 4 pop bottles.

There's a picture of it on here somewhere but basically you disconnect all the leak-offs and divert them into pop bottles. The fullest pop bottle after the test normally indicates the duff injector as it will leak a lot more than the others.

Lexia should show a very high correction factor for the duff one too...
