Secured a deal today for a new car for me.
Took it for a test drive and all seems well.
Negotiated to get a new MOT as the mot will be up in June.
High mileage but loads of history, 53 reg 2004 model 2.2 Exclusive with leather, sat nav etc, Automatic.
It's going for an Mot tomorrow and i hope to collect it on Friday.
Will sparkle it and post new pictures on the weekend.
Fingers crossed as with all second hand cars this will be reliable.

Congratulations on your C5 purchase, that should make a find replacement for your Xantia.

Oh Dear
Do i detect you feel i made a mistake in buying the 2.2.
I have been trying to stay away from the 2.2 to be honest but i hope my instinct will prove a good car..
Only time will tell..

Re: Xantics Antics C5 Exclusive blog
The 2.2 can be a very good engine and many do go on for many miles. There is a lot of threads on here about them and most problems seem faily easy to fix, should you have any. 2.2HDis are often the high spec models, so if you want a lot of spec its the only way to go with a S1 C5.
The FAP filter can be removed should it give an issue, so thats no longer a real concern either.

Re: Xantics Antics C5 Exclusive blog
Ok so maybe you got me thinking my heart ruled my head in this purchase, a little bit of me says that's right but i have bought the car i was always wanting and had a good feeling about it, I like us all, have been proved wrong and right in the past, and probably will be in the future too.. I respect other peoples thoughts and input thats why i joined the forum, No doubt there will be issues but hopefully small as it will be shank's pony for me otherwise.
Will give it a run on the weekend when i get it and be able to comment more then, It really is immaculate both inside and out so fingers crossed.

Correct on both accounts, Exclusive spec and Misty Lilac.
Tends to change colour if different light.

Our 52plate C5 is in Misty Lilac, quite an unusual colour.Xantic wrote:Correct on both accounts, Exclusive spec and Misty Lilac.

Re: Xantics Antics Picasso blog
We had a very nice day to be honest. As for the pictures well i am trying to get some good night photography shots but have not found the right backdrop yet with or without the car.
Very winding roads so good economy, obviously will do better on better roads. It is a hobby of mine photography but not taken the best night photos yet, will keep on trying.
Now where can we go tomorrow..
