Synergie gearbox

I have a 1998 Synergie 1.9td with a knackered gearbox,can anyone tell me the type/model of gearbox that is used in the car and are there any other Cit/Pug cars that have the same one fitted

Don't know the gearbox model, its an XUD engine as used in all sorts, but I would guess the ratios are a bit different in the cars. The Peugeot 806 and the Fiat Useless - and an obscure Lancia (Zeta?) - all shared the same bits. In France a Synergie was called an "Evasion" . There were van versions I think called Dispatch, but that name lived on in other vehicles. I have seen it spelt Despatch.

Looks like it used a variant of the ME gearbox up till RP 7111 (28 April 1996) and then a variant of the ML5T box after that. This is different to most other XUDT installations which used variants of the BE3 box. The HDi 110 Xantia uses an ML5T box, but no idea if it could be exchanged with a Synergie box. Looks like you will need to go and find anothe box out of a Synergie

My Citroen handbook says for the XUD 1.9 TD DHX type engine, the gearbox type is ML/5, the gearbox id plate says 20 LE 43, the reduction box torque is 14x71 and the speedo ratio is 25x20. Hope that helps!
