205 Rear beam

Post by dippythecow »

During my last MOT they advised that the rear beam bushes had excessive play, having had a chance to look myself, the offside rear wheel is leaning in badly at the top and there's about a 5mm gap between the tyre and the inner wing. I know this bad but what should this gap be, I think a good inch. Anyway reading the good old manual it's talks about taking it to a garage, can the rear beam be overhauled by the DIY novice? :)

i would think as they say rear beam bush/s these will be the rear sub frame mounting bush's not the trailing arm bush's,

even though it does sound like your arm bush's are shot also,

the usual repair is find a good secind hand complete rear axle,

i might be talking a load of dingos kidnys but i think you could use an axle from a later cit/pug with similar width body,

If one wheel is leaning in it will be radius arm bearings.A good second hand unit is like rocking horse sh!!. I`ve had a few from http://www.sspengineering.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; with out problems. £350 + VAT delivered to your door,They will fit it for that price also.
