Fluid Compatibility - Dee Rear Gaiter

Post by addo »

I've a pair of new rear gaiters for saloon; long since lost their bags and sticky labels. My Dee has leaky gaiters and is a red fluid car.

Only relevant markings on these pieces, seem to be a dab of white paint.

Does this help tell if they are they green or red fluid gaiters?

Thanks, Adam.

Hi Addo

Doubt the White marking makes it suitable for the D red fluid.
Standard Citroen marking was Green OR White for LHM.
Found this by comparing brake hose markings.
Did not believe about the white even when queried with the hose supplier.
To prove them wrong I checked with the XM Citroen workshop manual.
Thats where the Green OR White marking was specified.

Hello John, good point about the white or green markings.

The fellow who gave me these parts, had many Dees from first front ID through to IE spec third nose cars. They probably would have had "five million" series paper labels originally - but without these I was just fumbling. Looks like another sale for Tecar's business.

Regards, Adam.

I am pretty sure that at the time of D series switch over from veg to mineral fluid, white coded seals were supplied to be compatible with either. Long time ago though!
