152C Seatbelt trigger 2 open circuit

My air bag light is flashing, and Lexia tells me it's 152C - Seatbelt trigger 2 open circuit.

Anybody got any useful thoughts - eg is it driver or passenger side, and which bit to dig around in?

2001 Xantia HDi.

Normally that will be the drivers/offside on a Xantia.

The seatbelt buckles have pre-tensioners which form part of the airbag system, invariably what happens is that the connection plug under the seat gets separated.

I had the same problem.
Carefully disconnect the white/yellow connector under the seat and spray it with some electrical contact cleaner.
Then, with a bit of luck it should work again.

The electrical cleaner does not contain any lubrication, and will not leave any residue.
Do not clean with anything else, or you will probably have contact problems again.

Agree with you on the non-lubricating contact cleaner! So many people throw WD-40 around the place like it's a perfect cure.

I pulled the plugs apart (they simply click together), and soldered the wires where each part of the plug had only been crimped. After reassembling the plugs, they look perfectly original and have 100% conductivity. Of course this was done after disconnection of the battery, module plug and grounding out the pyrotechnic contacts.

A month or so later, I finally got round to looking at this. Nothing obvious, so I played with the connectors a bit and it's no longer complaining. Rather less of a disco light effect on the dashboard
