xantia v6 hp pump

Post by dowen »

Hi, does anyone know if this pump will fit my v6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220938466653? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They say its compatable, but someone said on this forum it was a special pump, I know its 6 pot ive had it off twice.
Has anybody got a pump? Ill pay a fair price.
Regards, Dave.

Have you tried hosing it off with brake cleaner then dusting with talc? This will rapidly show cracks up.

V6 pumps are unique to that engine.

The one in the link is definitely not suitable Dave. Fit it and you'll have no power steering to speak of...

The difference is that the V6 pump has it's power steering pressure regulator external to the pump and all others have an internal pressure regulator. The housings are the same though. Put a V6 pump on anything other than a V6 and the steering ram will go bang!

If yours is truely beyond hope I wonder if Pleiades could take the V6-specific bits of your pump and rebuild them into a replacement housing. Just a thought - I may be well off the mark but worth a go...
