Help with a Magnetti Marelli radio - C5

Post by corsehf »

Hi, Not been on for a while so i apologise to those who were trying to get hold of me with messages.

I have been having occasional issues with the radio on my C5. It's possibly the RT3 model with phone, satnav etc, built in.
The satnav appears to work fine with just one glitch where it didn't move for the whole journey once but was ok after a restart.
The radio reception is very poor and goes off channel very fast whilst driving around - possible aerial issue?, but more baffling is that sometimes when i try to select a certain radio station, it will not let me even though it may show the station i want on the screen - it still plays the previous station. I can either use the pre-selects or manually set the frequency but neither works when the radio is playing up.

Anyone had anything similar??

If it's the RT3, with the engine running pressing and holding the DARK button will reset the unit, I've got a copy of the handbook for the RT3 which I can scan to PDF if it helps

It is the RT3, tried the reset but if anything, that just makes it worse for a bit??

I'm now wondering if this could be aerial related, maybe the aerial is making a good connection, at the back of the radio, or the base of the antenna. I have found the copy f the navidrive handbook if you want, drop me a PM with an email address.

It could also, I suppose, be a software issue, but my 'pocket' says check the aerial first..............
