It is indeed! Certainly makes you just want to waft along rather than doing the rat run. Not to say it can't be enjoyed when appropriate though :lol:

I shall indeed have huge fun in it I'm sure Jim. Perhaps I shall bring it along to a rally (if they'll let me in after the Coupé last time!! :mrgreen:) I'll park it out the way!

What sort of fuel consumption figures are you getting out of it Toby?

Too early to tell. I shall update in a few days though I did about 190 miles today and reckon I've used just a smidge over half a tank. Tank on these is 80 litres I think.

Previous owner reckoned 17/18mpg around town and anything up to 28mpg on a run.

That's a bit better than the 4.2 XJ'6 I ran a few years ago, they did 14 mpg, nice smooth ride and engines though, the V12 was even smoother and deceptively quick in the way the speedo would rise and the fuel gauge fall :lol:

Bet the leather smells gorgeous? When I was a car-washing lad, the odd XJS we had in always smelt amazing.. Still hanker after a convertible one now..

in fact.. (clicks to ebay...and forgets, he needs LESS cars)

XJR, i bet that does go :twisted:

I think you would be lucky getting 18MPg round town and 28 on a run, seems quite economical for a Jag V8 :lol:

Still, you don't buy these things for their frugality :roll:
