4.5mm in line pipe connectors

Unread post by DHallworth »

Hi Guys...

Having been without a landline and broadband for the last 3 weeks after the storms in Scotland and the useless tossers at BT I'm now able to get back on line!

Does anyone know where I can get a 4.5mm in line connector for Xantia pipes? I've got a flaring tool and a roll of pipe but when the hole is right at the front it doesn't seem worth replacing the entire pipe from front to back.

I need the inline connector and 2 rubbers to go into it.

Going to give Plaedies a ring tomorrow and see if they have them.

David.

Pleiades will have them for sure David else if you have a lathe handy it's easy enough to make one. A length of brass, suitable drills and an M9 tap is all you need.

Thanks Jim. I'll give them a bell in the morning.

Hi David,

If you draw a blank with Pleiades then you could try these people at http://www.bonapart2cv.com/?lg=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have previously bought cupronickel pipe from them when the company was UK owned, however the owner retired and sold the business to a French guy. They concentrate mainly on the 2CV but there are still plenty of parts on offer suitable for BX, Xantia and XM owners. I notice that the pipe connectors they offer are made in the UK.

Pleiades unfortunately were out of stock so I ended up getting them from http://www.eurocarcare.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Ordered them this morning and they were dispatched this afternoon. Service so far seems great!

Thanks for the advice guys.

That looks a useful site David :)

I was hoping to see if they stocked flaring tools too. Sadly not so far as I can see :(

Hi Jim,

We bought this one:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-Brake ... 2c4f6458db" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's made by the same people that make the Sykes Pickavant brake pipe flaring tool. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but it looks great and seems to be well built.

I ordered those connectors yesterday around midday and they arrived today so they obviously don't mess around!
