does anyone know an easy way to refit the rubber gatters that fasten between suspension cylinders piston-rod and arm?.
as i've got new ones to fit & was wondering if any one out there knew of an easy way??

You need to remove the lockpin holding the cylinder piston balllink in the rear arm.
Then it's possible to replace the gaiter.
The lockpin may be stuck & rusty - but usually it comes out by patient fiddling - don't be tempted to force it - it will snap and leave you with a REAL bugger of a job.
Have not tried it on a Xantia - on a BX it's a fairly easy job - but the BX rear cylinder piston rod is approx 1.5 the lenght of the Xantia's - which may make it easier on the BX.
Be sure to grease all bits on reassembly - get new lockpins if dodgy.
