Leaky Rear End....

Unread post by citroenxm »

Hello fellow Hydractive anti sinker drivers...

My hdi Exclusive has developed a leak on the rear anti sink assembly...

Ive got a wet anti sink Valve, though the sphere itself all looks dry. Is there anything on the anti sink valve that can leak, or is it luck that a pipe seal has decided to let go... Ive checked the tightness of the unions, and they are all tight..

Am i looking at a replacment anti sink valve, or do I need to just replace the 5 pipe seals?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul, Gonna PM you in a moment or three about a trip up to your part of the world

Now, the rear AS valve is identical in construction to the front one which also can leak... It'll most likely be the same thing. The O ring under the round cover on the end...

Get that off (it might help to remove the valve first) and then replace the O ring. I think they're available from Pleiades...

Hi dommo..

It appears there is a difference between sx anti sink valves and vsx hydractive anti sink valves.. And a certain way to fit them...

It seems if you fit an sx anti sink valve to a hydractive car it will cause rapid sinking. . A problem i had on a vsx xantia years ago and never fixed.. Bu ive just read an aritcle featuring an xm with the same problem and the owner discovered this above and fixed his xm....

Right. Sounds like my Activa had a non hydractive front AS valve then as it sunk like a good un.

Do you need a vsx one then?
