C4 Door Locked.. Won't Open

Hi All.
Hope you all had a good Xmas... just returned from vising my Daughter who has a C4. The nearside rear door is locked and won't open, her local Citroen Dealer say they can't fix it!!!! I remember reading somewhere that sometimes the child lock goes faulty and jams the lock.. but regardles, it looks like the only way in is to first destroy the door card and try to drill out or otherwise destroy the door lock to get the damn thing open.
Has anyone any experience or knowledge they would care to share??

I can't really help much, the lock is cable operated so maybe doing the old burglar trick fishing about with a coat hanger might work, worth a try before wrecking anything.
