what should i check first
my freinds 05 reg 307 1.6 HDI Quicksilver with VAN/CAN electricary, turned up at my workshop today after just a short very gentle drive for about 2 or 3 minuits from stone cold,
when he turned the engine off the rad fans kept running for quite some time,
temp sensor maybe ????

Re: 307 HDI rad fans
I think its shared between gauge and fans via the BSi so if the gauge is about right then (probably) not the sensor.
I'm not sure if these have the relays fitted around the front panel aka 405 / 306 / 406 etc but that would be my first port of call.

Re: 307 HDI rad fans
is it possible a low battery could cause this,
as yesterday i fitted a nearly new battery from the owners old XANTand the gfault has not showed itself today as yet,

Not that I'm aware of although low battery voltage can play havoc with multiplexing sometimes in general, so it is a slight possibility.

Re: 307 HDI rad fans
certainly seemes to be the case on this one as since the good battery has been on the car (2 days now ) the fans have not cut in at all prematurly,
