ABS Light - SOLVED

Unread post by citroenxm »

The 1994 TD SX Xantia had an issue all during my ownership when I was useing her... The ABS has always worked and work fine at all speeds...

Though I did find out that speeds over 75mph would put the ABS light on and actually knock out the system. Not like the XM were the light can be on BUT the system still work. Thats another story Ive prooved on Club-xm.co.uk site..

Anyway, this weekend after a year standing and my decsision to sell the ole girl on, I found out why the light came on.

Thats a picture of the original hub - on the right, and replacment on the left. Notice the ABS Ring teeth, or lack of them

So S1 ABS Rings are not imune to rotting like S2 ABS Rings seem prone to...

Had they corroded away or were they just full of dirt and rust?

Either lived by the seaside or used a lot on motorways in the winter I would think.
