Fitting leather seats into a Xantia.

Post by mirafioriman »

Been reading with interest the post about swapping seats. A couple of things I'm not clear about.....

1) My car is an early series 1 with no airbags. Does that mean it doesn't have seat belt pretensioners and that I therefore wouldn't need to swap the front belts if I fitted series 2 seats?

2) I read that series 2 front door panels fit the series 1 doors. Do series 2 rear door panels fit or can they be made to fit?

3) Did the Mk1 ever come with wood trim? If not will Mk2 wood trim fit the Mk1?

Thanks in advance :)

Being an early S1 Car, fitting seats with bags and pre tensioners mean you wont have hassle with warning lights.. they should go straight in..

S2 Rear door cards are identical its only the Fronts that are slightly different and all it is the END securing screw being the flip out bin lid is further towards the door edge, simply drill a small pilot hole for it to grab into the S1 door.

Wood was on late S1 cars, in the V6 Exclusives only... S2 dash items are a little different and theres a dash profile difference which may cause a problem also centre dash section has a difference with the Centre unit to allow the One Piece S2 Wood trim to fit..

Thanks. So I'm looking for a late Mk1 Exclusive V6 ideally then :)

I guess I would settle for a set of series 2 leather seats and matching door panels with wood :)
