Have you tried adjusting the dimming wheel under the steering column as that's the common cause of the dash lights failing.

Re: Xantia mk2 fuse location
Hi,
My handbook gives the instrument panel fuse as F12, a 20amp fuse, found in the fuses to the right of the steering wheel. I think the fuses in the fuse panel are numbered but if I am wrong it is the fuse in the right hand row and counting up from the bottom of just the double row of fuses, it is the fourth or the centre one in that row ie 3 fuses above and 3 below.
My car diagram shows three 20 amp fuses together in that block and the instrument panel is the middle one of the 20 amp fuses.
Hope that helps.

If it can happen it will.

Re: Xantia mk2 fuse location
F12 does a lot more than lighting up the instruments. Aircon and stop lights are just two functions. I'm sure if this was blown then there would be other symptoms apart from dark panel lights!!!
DickieG has the most likely cause. I've known the knob be moved by your knee to the extent that the lights are dimmed so much they go right out.. I do it regularly on my own cars...
