A friend of mine has a leaky rear height corrector on his S2 Xantia estate, to the point it's failed the MOT.
I have a box of 2nd hand height correctors from cars that have passed through my hands, mainly GSAs, but also the odd CX and an XM.
They all look the same, does anyone know whether height correctors are interchangeable, front to rear and car to car ?
Or put another way, if I have one that looks identical to example on the car, is it sensible or foolish to try swapping them over ?
Cheers
Andrew

Re: Height corrector interchangeability
Nope, by and large, they're all the same and swappable...

Re: Height corrector interchangeability
i have sent this reply to you thread on the CCC forum
the usual bit that leaks is the short rubber pipe that the plastic pipe plugs into perish's a splits, if so pull it off cut it back and re/fit,
the only other bit that can leak and usualy if some gorila has been leavering against is the dust covers and diaphams,
if this is the case and you have a selection of used H/C's you can borrow the rubber parts from you spare one's,
easy fix usualy,

Re: Height corrector interchangeability
Malcolm,
Can you recomend a procedure for removing the dust cover without wrecking the outer retaining/sealing ring? (Either on or off the car)
Thinking about it, reassembly would also pose a problem, for me anyway.

If it can happen it will.

Re: Height corrector interchangeability
if they are rubber dust covers they just pull off with you finger ( who mentioned finger
),
sometimes they are plastic and you might prize them off with a screwdriver,
then the diaphams you need to gently prize off the alloy retaing rings,
