Now what have I done.........
Earlier today the display unit went dark, I checked the fuses - swapped some around to make sure they were all working then replaced each in their own slot in the under-dash fuse-box.
Now the engine will not start - the display (now initially working again) states there is a fault with the alarm system. I guess I took out the fuse that covers the immobiliser and disrupted the system.
Is there a home fix - I cannot believe that Citroen would have designed such a self-destruct system all for the replacement of a fuse.
Help ..........

Try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes and reconnecting. It could be that something has powered up in the wrong sequence and the immobiliser is locked out.

Are you 100% sure you have put all the fuses back where they came from ? Id maybe go over them again using the handbook to confirm what goes where. The alarm & imobiliser systems are totally independant of each other so a fault with the alarm system should not stop it starting.
