Electric windows

Post by djjtl »

Hi
I have just put a new battery on my c5 and resynced the key and it will not let me use the small button to close the front windows. It previously worked and is rather useful when I have the dog in the car to allow fresh air in for her.

Don’t know about re-syncing keys, never been there because the remote’s battery hasn’t gone flat yet.
I have two car batteries that I swap without ceremonials and sometimes end up with a sneering window.

Open one window while holding the single door button down for several seconds after full opening.
There will be a sort of relay clicking sound inside the door.
Close it next and still hold the button until after you’ve heard the click.
Same for the other windows, each in turn, then try the remote.

The C5 is a fabulous dog carrier.

That's a bit odd.
I took my fob to bits and removed the batter, just to see what happened.

Nothing. No re-synchronising needed, it just worked.
I think it probably is about time for a new battery as I've had it nearly six years without changing the battery.
