Random alarm sounding - Xantia II
Over the past two weeks we have had three occasions when the alarm has sounded at random. This is after the car being locked using the 'blip'. Any ideas, please?

Spider nesting in the ulrasonics?
You can disable the ultrasonics if you hold down the alarm button on the dash until the light comes on solid before leaving the car.
That will then tell you if it is a problem with the interior sensors (ultrasonics) or a door/bonnet/boot open sensor fault.

on the estate the boot lock has worn over time and no longer pusheds the pin switch for the alarm in enough to say its closed, if you lock it with the plip (before the wife boke it!!) and hold the pin in was fine, but let the pin go and it would chirp as you locked it.

Re: Random alarm sounding - Xantia II
no, sorry, pop the alarm switch off the boot lock (plastic clip that holds it on) and hold the pin on the microswitchy bit in when you lock the car with the remote, if it still chirps on locking then isnt the boot lock!

With the boot lock there are a few things that can occur, the switch slips off it's locating slot or the switch pin snaps off, with the lock itself the hole the pivot pin sits in wears causing the latch to sit at an angle preventing the switch pin from being depressed.
