xantia accumulator sphere

I read on here that to check the accumulator sphere, start the engine and listen to how many clicks from the accumulator I cant hear anything for the sound of the engine, what do I do

I guess you have a Diesel Xantia
In mine ticking sound is very distinctive and easily heard.

You can try "listening" it by using a long stick (wooden, plastic or metal).
I use a long handle screwdriver for similar cases.

Edit: Also you need a stopwatch (I use mobile phone's) to get the intervals which should not be less than 30 secs.
