sidelight..battery out job?!

Post by HDI Dave »

Flippin well gave up again today, in the damp and foggy conditions, with me old back

jeez, s'only a sidelight,why so much hassle!

Might need to hire an anorexic or a 6" tall person at this rate

'Simply twist and pull' ...haynes...

well I must be simple then, as nowt's happening.

Here's a spare light I got with the car,so I can compare..still don't get me any more room int thengine bay though

Umm, sorry, what was that you said Dave?

I seem to be distracted by something in that picture you posted

The usual problem with the lady in the picture, sorry sidelight, is that they melt their holders a little and get very tight in there.

To be honest I'd just whip out the headlight.

Easy in a series 2. Pop out the indicator, undo the torx holding the edge of the under-headlight trim, remove the fan cowl and unclip the other end of the trim and remove. Undo three bolts and the headlight is all yours in your hand.

Much easier than struggling trying to get the bulb out in-situ...

mind u, her pic was 'tiled', so I had to stretch her (ooer missus),to make her fit full screen, still..some things look even better stretched!

I thought by the shape of her mouth that it was the dreaded Katy Price.

God help us when Malcolm sees this.

On modern cars it's easy to see why there's so many with lights out Dave, it's a right dockyard job in many cases, so much so that it makes the Xantia look easy... Take a C5 for instance. Nightmare

I have learned to do my C5 lights in a couple of minutes - took a couple of hours at first.
Not that they blow that often.

Or the nearside on the C3. Absolute nightmare, and the main fusebox probably isn't as easily removed as the battery. When I saw the access, I thought that maybe the headlamp had to be taken off, so I checked the manual: "Remove cover, replace bulb, replace cover"! Thanks a load...

She is Zabine Kapfinger :)

You may recognise this, took me a while to define it though.

A bit less excitable.

Jim may like the guitar solo in this - rather Dave Thingy from Floyd.
