Hi all,
We have just replaced rear brake pipes on a C5 2.2hdi estate 2002 and need now to bleed the system.
Is there a correct way of doing this?
Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest engine off, ignition off - this puts the ABS in a passive mode. If there is a load sensitive compensator to the rear brakes (unlikely for a newer car) then it needs to be safety wired in the fully open position.
I normally crack the ABS block output flare nuts one fitting at a time if the system has been siphoned empty (effectively what's happened here) and pump gently until they stop bubbling. Then it seems easier to bleed the "legs".

there is a procedure to bleed the brakes on a c5 using the diagnostic machine, but to be honest if you follow those instructions u should be ok
Re: Bleeding brakes on 2002 C5
There are a number of one -man bleeding kits on the marked, which are inexpensive.
The correct procedure is
(a) bleed front left hand brake. (Master Cylinder side)
(b) bleed right hand rear brake.
(c) Bleed left hand rear brake.
(d) bleed right hand front brake.
Ensuring as you do so that the brake fluid level is kept above the minimum level mark. the fluid to use is Dot 4.
